Adobe InDesign Server and QuarkXPress Server.

The ISY3 layout and rendering engine is the Adobe InDesign server or QuarkXPress server. This makes it possible to use Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress documents directly as a template with least possible effort, including all defined document and layout qualities. The solution is characterised by the fact that exactly those functions of Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress can be chosen which are necessary for the respective step.

Text length check with optical highlighting.

A main problem in the translation process are the different text lengths of each language in the layout. If this is for the first time only noticed in the master drawing, only two alternatives remain: Shortening the text even if the user of the language does not master the language, or changing the Cd. ISY3 already shows the translator accurately the position where a text is too long and how much. So he can adapt the text length at keystroke to the available drop space in the layout.

Typeface-support, international characters-support.

International markets require different character sets, that is why there is often more than one master template. Therefore in ISY 3 you can adjust any number of language masters for a document. The system knows when and where to use which master. The installation of fonts while translating can be completely omitted.

Text formattings, intelligent style handling.

ISY3 takes into account all text formattings of the master template. If the translator wants to mark out words or constituents of a sentence in the running text, ISY3 offers him a graphic interface to be used intuitively which presupposes no previous knowledge about styles and DTP. Colour marks indicate the different text formattings. The translator simply assigns the corresponding colours to his text. As simple as that. Of course ISY3 thereby also supports font with page overflow, illustrations and tables.

Continuously intuitive short-cut-navigation.

To be able to offer users maximum effectiveness, ISY3 provides a short-cut-navigation. This makes it possible to jump, by means of keyboard commands, during the translation process from one translation to the next one. The user can assume translations via Copy & Paste from available applications (e.g. Microsoft Word). ISY3 removes existing formattings automatically so that a correct text transfer is ensured.

Live preview.

Besides the omnipresent and scrollable WYSIWYG preview a binding PDF preview is available any time. ISY3 represents all editable elements of a document graphically clear in the preview. Every element can be selected and translated by simply cklicking.

Element-based comment function, incl. history and status.

Most of the time, many dispersed users are involved in a translation process. This makes coordination and release processes difficult. ISY3 offers element-based comment functions which make it possible to synchronise via the system within the workflow. So in retrospect it is evident who has taken which decision and when.

Translation Memory.

For higher translation consistency and efficiency in the translation process ISY3 features an integrated Translation Memory. The terminology database guarantees the correct and uniform translation of single technical terms. The sentence memory contains complete sentence pairs and automatically pushes these towards the translation process, if an already translated text returns in another document. For the smooth integration of existing external systems, ISY3 offers predefined import-/export- as well as web service-interfaces.

Freely definable workflows.

Processes of translation and coordination change from time to time and from use case to use case. Therefore the workflow of a project is freely configurable in ISY3. Based on the finish date, the system automatically calculates for some project steps intermediate deadlines. ISY3 automatically provides infomation when changes of status occur, and warns proactively when a deadline has been exceeded. In the translation or comment mode,  ISY3 furthermore offers a context-dependent to-do-list, even to element level. This provides an overview of the tasks to be finished and gives recommendations for the sequence of processing.

Different document modes.

ISY3 supports both page-based translation processes as well as document-based translation processes. The produced language versions can be stored in a document of their own or on a level of language in the master template. The current processing status is any time available as an open Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress document.
